|dw:1350454728404:dw| did you mean this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nop

OpenStudy (amorfide):

4x-3|<7 what does that line mean

OpenStudy (anonymous):

egnor the line my mistake

OpenStudy (amorfide):

4x-3<7 you want to isolate x to do this you want to get all x terms to one side and all constants to the other side so you have 4x-3<7 you want to get the 3 on the right side, to do this you will do the opposite of the sign it has so you have -3, do the opposite, what do you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um ....4?

OpenStudy (amorfide):

no... you have a -3 the opposite would be +3, +3 to both sides this gives 4x-3+3<7 +3 simplify this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4x-9<10

OpenStudy (amorfide):

you got the 10 right, but if you do -3+3 this goes to 0 this is because you are adding, you multiplied so 4x-3+3<10 4x<10

OpenStudy (amorfide):

now you have 4x you want x to get x on it's own you must do the opposite, so since it is 4 multiplied by x, you will divide by 4 what do you get?
