Help? I kinda don't get this.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

HEY:P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when x = 8 .. what is the value of y ? look at the graph what is the value of the graph when x =8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=-8 **

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes ! 2 !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

pretty easy isnt it ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

excluded means the values that x cant get .. we are not allowed to divide by zero for what values of x we divide by zero ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you there ? trying ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

we cant have zero in the denominator ..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so for the first fraction we have x/(x-2) it means x -2 cant be zero so it means x cant be 2.. the second fraction 1/(x-4) so what x cant be ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry i had to go

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no see if x-4 = 0 so x =4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so x cant be 2 and cant be 4 now we look at the denominator of the last fraction x^2-6x+8 we have to see for what x values we get here 0 can you find them ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

very good!! so again x is not 2 and not 4.. so finally the excluded values are 2 and 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:)
