What are the rules\guidelines for the shameless self-promotion of a blog or facebook group page on OS? I want to increase traffic to my chemistry teaching page, but I want to know the OS policy before I link anything

if links have relevant material to the subject that you are trying to tutor the askers on, then i dont see an issue with it.

But, if your only intent is to paste your link into as many posts as you can and not provide any volunteer tutoring on the OS, it comes across as taking advantage of the OS.

@amistre64 that's what I figured. I try to keep my professional page all chemistry\physics related which may help OS'ers. That's what I was going for. I may, and may not, link to it at some point
