what is the range and asymptote of exponential function f(x)=-3^x?
To find horizontal asymptotes we have to ask what the function will equal when x is very large ie infinity or negative infinity. Exponential functions of X^(neg infinity)=0. Will this go to negative infinity and will it go to positive infinity? Are there any restrictions ie can we take the square root of a negative number?
The more I think about it is this actually -(3)^x. I took it as (-3)^x If it is -(3)^x then this is simple. You should be able to find the horizontal asymptote and to find your range ask yourself the question......Will this ever be positive?
SO. i figured out as x > +inf y goes to -inf, so the range would be (0,-inf)? @benzilla
Yes that is correct.
