I Am Upset That The Mods Are Not Looking Into These Things - Not Warning . The People Giving Direct Answers(Which Has Increased The Amount Of People Giving Direct Answers ) . The People Writing Off Topic Questions In The Math Group . Abusive Speech Or Adult Topics Being Discussed In The Chat Rooms :)
I thought we were and have been looking into these things.
Well I Have Seen People Doing This More Frequently And There Is No Mod To Look Into :(
Especially The First One :(
Hmmm...I know I have given a lot of warnings for a lot of those things you have pointed out. I have also been knowing to suspend on some accounts. So I think saying that we aren't doing anything is not correct to say.
I think you are forgetting that you can't see when people get a warning - I suspect more is happening behind the scenes than you expect.
Well I Am Sorry About That,But I Feel That OS Is A Place Where People Come To Learn Not Get Answers Unlike Other Places ,So,When Some One Gives A Direct Answer,I Tell Them To See The CoC But When They Do It Again I Jus Use The Report Abuse Feature But Then When I See Them Again Giving Direct Answers,What Am I Supposed To Do ? Tell You,Right. So I Decided To Tell You Guys About It :)
Ok. Please report it. We usually give a warning the first time and maybe the second time depending if the mod who is giving the second warning was aware of the first warning. Then it is usually a suspension after that.
Well in some cases, I received the complaints through messages by the users (just because of that A) , and just requested the user to please obey the openstudy code-of-conduct.
I've taken care of maths chat a couple times. Gotten it back in line and whatnot....if it means anything to anyone..
I think that ^ I don't have anything wrong in that , as per requesting or just referring the user to openstudy code-of-conduct is not wrong, though I must say that I did that because no mods were present at that time and the post was really gonna be "offensive" . Moreover, I agree that mods "were" no more active for a small span of time, but now, it is very hard to say that "mods are not looking on that given issues" as some users don't obey the warnings also, they ignore it, they love to be banned in that case but that is only possible if "they" are being much offensive. Thanks!
The point mentioned by @TranceNova is exactly what I am trying to say! ...
I'm pretty sure complaining all the time doesn't solve an issue, I've had this come up quite a number of times and have personally talked to some of the mods but trust me you have no idea how much the mods have done and are still doing to keep the site at what it is now. the question we should ask is, if the mods are doing what they do (which is no small task) and the site is getting worse... who is allowing it to be worse? and what can you do to help change that? i think we've complained enough
I remember a small dialogue of teachers usually when : Students say to the teachers very humbly to let him/her be the monitor of the class, then the teacher replies : "All the students will be the monitor themselves, they will monitor themselves" and this is how the site works.
Judging From The Fact That I Have Been Suspended Less The Past Few Days, I Would Say That It Does Seem That The Moderators Are Less Active (my that capitalization is a pain in the grammatical eyes)
lol, that pain can be felt by me @lgbasallote :)
Oh My God :) @lgbasallote
and also @hba ....with all due respect....you're also guilty of direct answering.....so it would be a bad idea (for you) to tell the moderators to become strict with direct answering.....
Well Then What Should I Do ? @lgbasallote
Not give direct answers is a start.
if you can't resist the urge to give an answer, then provide a different example and solve it (to show the asker how it's done)
No Wait I Dont Really Give Direct Answers
