Why might there be different kinds of thermometers for measuring temperature? Use specific examples from the lab to support your answer.

Different thermometers arise with the need to balance cost and precision. Electric and gas thermometers are used in the lab (need great precision)while normal infrared and clinical thermometer are used in hospitals(no need for precision, just want to know if you have a fever or not)
