The sum of two consecutive odd integers is 236. What is the smaller integer? 115 117 119 113

Hint: Let the smaller number be x. In this case, the larger number would be x + 2.
That still dosen't really help.
@momoswag It's a hint. Set up an equation describing the relations I just mentioned, and you should be ready to go.
That's my problem i don't know how to set up the equation.
You know that the smaller number is x and the larger number is x+2 (consecutive odd numbers). Now that when they add up, it is equal to 236. So an equation would be x + (x + 2) = 236.
