OpenStudy (erinweeks):

Into what substance is fibrinogen converted in Step C of Figure 33–1?

OpenStudy (erinweeks):

A. thrombin B. fibrin C. platelets D. thromboplastin

OpenStudy (frostbite):

Fibrinogen is converted by thrombin into a fibrin clot. So B.

OpenStudy (frostbite):

Or wait. 2 sec let me do some checking.

OpenStudy (erinweeks):

okay i thought a at first but it was wrong

OpenStudy (frostbite):

Quite sure, but i check a book just to be sure ^^

OpenStudy (erinweeks):

okay . (:

OpenStudy (erinweeks):

i was thinking c but thats why i asked for some help !

OpenStudy (frostbite):

But if i remember right thromboplastin is a plasma protein aiding blood coagulation through conversion of prothrombin to thrombin.

OpenStudy (erinweeks):

see this is a difficult .. i need a little help .

OpenStudy (frostbite):

It is B. 100% sure now thrombin = enzyme fibrin = is made into fibrin clot in the blood clotting cascade. platelets = cell fragment (hard to make a molecule into a cell :D) thromboplastin =thromboplastin is a plasma protein aiding blood coagulation through conversion of prothrombin to thrombin.

OpenStudy (erinweeks):

okay thank you so much for helping !

OpenStudy (frostbite):

No problem.
