Nearly all of the plant tissue called ____ is made up of cell walls?

OpenStudy (frostbite):

Hmm Xylem perhaps?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you sure, cause I have no idea; and my biology textbook doesn't have the answer

OpenStudy (frostbite):

Not sure at all - i try look it up in my book (Campbell biology)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thanks

OpenStudy (frostbite):

God i am very very unsure. Only know that the cell wall is particularly important in the xylem, because the column of water in the hollow xylem cells is under tension (negative pressure) and without the lignin reinforcement from the cell wall the cells would collapse.

I'll just go with your answer; thanks
