so you would do everything backwards the the question asks. start at 69.. ADD 3(because it says he is less than 3) and then divide by 4 (because it said '4 times" his daughters age. and you will get the result :)

do you understand it now? you just do the opposite of what it says to find a result. and if that doesnt work, then you can always multiply 4 and add 3 to all the answers given and see what gives you 69 lol
