Simplify −(6p + 12)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Open the parenthesis \[= -6p - 12\] Add 12 to both sides \[12 = -6p\] Divide both sides by -6 \[-2 = p\]

OpenStudy (nubeer):

@WorldExplorer i dont think its done this way bcos we have to simplify does it mean that given expression is equal to 0?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Read the question carefully. Its saying to simplify the expression not solving it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh yeah: Factor out = -6 (p - 2)
