From the image you can get two equations, namely: y-4 = x+5 3x+5 = x+12 I suggest solving for x in the bottom one and subbing it into eqn 1
do you get that?
i only got x=7 , if that parts right . im confused on the subbing part
okay, now that we know x = 7 y-4 = x+5 y - 4 = 7 + 5 y-4 = 12
but why does answer c have multiple y='s ?

would it be A or C ?
The question states to find the values of the variable as well as the side lengths, these extra values are the side lengths that need to be found.
So the answer is c
ok thanks
