No idea how to solve this Derivative. Will post pic. Thanks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the 106?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I tried cosx but it didnt work

OpenStudy (cruffo):

The derivatives of sin(x) have a pattern: y = sin(x) y' = cos(x) y'' = -sin(x) y''' = -cos(x) y'''' = y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh...so until the 106th derivative then?

OpenStudy (cruffo):

No....every 4th derivative is back to sin(x). 106 divided by 4, then the remainder tells you which derivative y', y'', y''' it will be

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the remainder is 20. so that means its back to sinx?

OpenStudy (cruffo):

??? \(106 \div 4 = 26 \) R2

OpenStudy (cruffo):

Remainder of 2 means that the 106th derivative of sin(x) is the same as the 2nd derivative of sin(x).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so -sinx

OpenStudy (cruffo):

yep!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k ill try

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha. cool. thanks :D
