all you have left is the $ on the top and the gallon on the bottom
multiply 1.45*1.23*946 to get your answer in $/gal

wait, how does 1 quart turn to a gallon. since 4 quarts=1 gallon should I also multiply by 4 to eliminate the quarts and get 1 gallon?

You could have just as easily added another term in there that said \[\frac{4 quart}{1 gal}\]
