My question is that do the trig ratio and that parabola tangent thingy have anything in common?

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

yeap

Parth (parthkohli):

And what is that similarity?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Never thought of that. trig ratio : \(\LARGE\tan = \frac{\text{Perpendicular}}{\text{Base}}\) while that tangent is the line passing through any point on the circle...

Parth (parthkohli):

WRONG!\[\rm \tan = {opposite \over adjacent}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

TOA .... oh yes!

Parth (parthkohli):

Yes, and what you said is my question.

Parth (parthkohli):

How are they similar?

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):
