Surely you could simplify the expression yourself a little bit. Add the integers and the y's together. It should get a lot easier to solve.

you combine the 6y and 3y to get 9y then you combine the -6 and 5 and get -11 you add 11 to 7 and get 18 9y- 18 divide 9 by both sides and et y=2
