but speaking in general, I'd rather prefer a mainstream one than an independent.

it really depends. if the independent one has proper citations and the person who has put the info up there has clearly stated ones identity... then it would be a different story.

They both have different areas in witch they can be reliable , whats the context of the question .

Despite propaganda , mainstream is more accountable for not telling OBVIOUS mis truths , but thats as far as they can be trusted .

@bberger i would say neither, you can't base the credibility of news on the fact that it may be on tv, or solely on the internet.
