Match the equation with its graph. –4x – 2y = 8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know how to solve for y?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no that is why im on here looking for help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i havent been in school for 8years

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok we need to get this i the form y=mx+b m=slope and b= y intercept –4x – 2y = 8 so add 4x to both side of equal sign -4x+4x-2y=4x+8 -2y=4x+8 now divide by -2 so y is by itself -2/-2 y=4/-2 x+ 8/-2 so now we get y=-2x-4 so slope is -2 and y intercept is -4 so look at the graphs it has and which is crossing the y axis at -4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok what do you think

OpenStudy (anonymous):

gimmie one sec im looking now sorry im little slow

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its ok cupcake

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

;-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

am i right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no what is b=? that is y intercept
