Solve using multplication principal -4x=36

OpenStudy (ajprincess):

multiply both sides by (-1/4). Can u do it @tthomas0557?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We know that \(4 \cdot {1 \over 4} = 1 \) It follows that \(-4 \cdot {-1 \over 4} = 1 \) Thus, multiplying both sides by \({-1 \over 4} \) will leave us with \(x\) on one side.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok so of 1/4 / -4 I got -1 and 1/4 / 36 I got 9 So where do I go from here?
