3-2x(2-5)=3(4-x)

OpenStudy (ajprincess):

First distribute -2x(2-5) and 3(4-x) using distributive property. 3-2x(2-5)=3(4-x) 3-2x*2-2x*(-5)=3*4-3*4x 3-4x+10x=12-12x Bring all x terms to one side and bring all the numbers to other side. Then solve for x. Can u do it @dsingledeck?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=1

OpenStudy (ajprincess):

hmm no. 3-4x+10x=12-12x -4x+10x+12x=12-3 18x=9 x=9/18 =1/2 Getting it @dsingledeck?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but isn't 3.4=12 and 3.x =3x, so its 12 -3x not 12-12x

OpenStudy (ajprincess):

yup u r 100% right:) I am extremely sorry.:( 3-4x+10x=12-3x -4x+10x+3x=12-3 9x=9 x=1. Ur answer is perfect.:) I made a big mistake. Really am sorry.:(
