Equilateral Triangle MNP has perimeter 12a+18b. Line segment QR is a midsegment. What is QR? a. 6a+9b b. 4a+6b c. 2a+3b d. 3a+4.5b

Can you draw it..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Lunalovegood

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no it doesn't show it on my guide

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ahhh OK

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It says that the perimeter of an equilateral triangle is 12a+18b So all sides are equal. U can take 3 as the common term. 3( 4a+6b) Then a side will be 4a+6b...

Becauz it's an equilateral triangle all sides are equal... Now u can use the Pythagoras Theorem to find the mid-segment of the triangle..:)

c.?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1350835291425:dw| I'm not sure P.T. will help here @Miyuru ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Lunalovegood , yes that is correct, the midsegment is always half the length of the base.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry it could be found according to the mid point theorem... :D
