isolate all numbers to 1 side, simplify, then square both sides and solve for y

y=(-8/3)^2 +7 <------ if the 10 is not under the radical.

Can someone show me step by step? Im still not able to understand how to solve for y.

take the 10 to the other side. then divide the equation by three, and then take then square both sides and add 7 to the squared number and you will have y. Good luck.
