How do you do x/a=y/b solve for x

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

so multiplie both sides by a and will get ... so can you make it ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I still dont get how you can multiply a on both sides

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

multiplie by a both sides and will get a(x/a)=a(y/b) (ax)/a =(ay)/b than now simplifie by a the left side and will get x=(ay)/b ok ?
