find the derivative using the chain rule (attached)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[f(\theta) = \frac{ 1 }{ 4 }\sin ^22\theta\]

zepdrix (zepdrix):

\[(1/4)\sin^2(2\theta)=(1/4)(\sin(2\theta))^2\] It might help to visualize the function like this, so you can effectively see what the outermost function is. Because when you differentiate you want to go from the outside inward :D So what is your outermost function?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you mean by that? uhmmm 1/2sin2θ?

zepdrix (zepdrix):

The outermost function is the square, something being squared, see it? :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait. no. 1/2cos2θ?
