What would be the resistance of a piece of aluminium wire 1.8 mm in diameter and 10 m long?(The resistivity of aluminium is 2.8 × 10–8 Ω m.)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[R=\rho L/A\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes so for A I did... π * ((0.9)^-3)^2 and got 5.91 m^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is that correct? :o

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you mean \(A=\pi\times(0.9\times10^{-3})^2\), you're correct.

Oops now I realise why I've got the wrong answer... I forgot to add in the x10 bit :P Thank you
