OpenStudy (babyslapmafro):

Please, I am desperate for help... If the radius of a cone is measured to be 5cm with a possible 3% error, and the height is measured to be 10cm with a possible 5% error, use differentials to estimate the percentage error in the computation of the volume.

OpenStudy (babyslapmafro):

\[V=\frac{ 1 }{ 3 }\pi r^2h\]

i have no idea how to do this, but my spidy sense is telling me that your going to have to solve the equation for three values, one being the given value, the next being the % - the given and the third being the % + the given. Then compare the difference between answers and figure out the percentage difference. I hope this helps

OpenStudy (anonymous):

IE 5cm +- 3% of 5cm and 10cm +- 5% of 10cm
