can someone explain how to find the initial speed and terminal speed of a particle traveling a curve?

Do you have the equation for the curve? The initial speed should be the absolute value of the derivative of the curve when t is zero, and the terminal speed should be the absolute value of the derivative of the curve at t = whatever time the particle stopped.
