okay please explain how to do this. My teacher was giving me multi step equations, but he didn't explain what to do when you have two variables on one side of your inequality , here is an example. 3(2x - 8) - 8x > -14.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

solve the left side first, so distribute the 3 into (2x-8) and then simplify everything on the left side of the inequality. Then it solving the rest should be the same as normal from there right?

okay, thanks
