subtract the polynomial: (18y^2+4) - (10y^4 - 9y^2 + 4)

the two 4's cancel out. you add the 9y^2 to the 18y^2 which is 27y^2. and since there is no common term for the 10y^4 u leave it out. so the answer should be
-10y^4 +27y^2
