Please help! desperate need of it:) Write the equation of a line in slope-intercept form that has a slope of -2 and passes through the point (2, -8).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Slope-intercept form: \[y = mx + b\] We know the slope: \[m = -2\] So plug that into our original equation: \[y=-2x+b\] We already know what \((x, y)\) are at one of the points: \[(x,y) = (2, -8)\] Can you do the rest?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wat is x and y?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[(x,\ \ \ \ \ \ \ y) \ = \\ (2, \ \ \ -8)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wouldnt it be y=-2x-8
