Mathematicians would argue that not all transformations would be helpful in solving equations. Under what conditions is that true? That is, when would transformations not be helpful, or what types of transformations would not be helpful, when solving an equation? What types of transformations would be helpful? Then I'd have no idea what this is asking. I don't know, any transformation that complicates the problem, I guess, look for examples, they're pretty easy to find, if I understand the problem correctly (which I highly doubt).
