Sterile fruit flies are used in an experiment where the proportion that survives at least t days is given by . If the experiment begins with 200 fruit flies, and flies are added at the rate of 5 per hour, how many flies are present 14 days after the start of the experiment?

You start off with 200 and there are 24 hours in a day with 5 being added every hour of that 14 day period. So first, how many hours in 14 days? 24x14=336. Now we have 5 new flies every hour so it's a 5:1 ratio (basically multiply the number of hours by flies per hour). 5x336=1680
