8x+y=14

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y is function of x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=14-8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

14-8x*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you get that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you do the exact opposite of everything but y to the otherside so 8x+y=14 would mean subtract 8x cause its adding to y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then -9x+3y=18

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok here -9x+3y=18 you want to isolate y add the -9x first so 3y=18+9x after you divide by 3 cause of 3 multiplying y y=6+3x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem

Just don't forget y = mx+b form
