A cylinder is inscribed in a right circular cone of height 9 inches and radius (at the base) equal to 10 inches. What are the dimensions of such a cylinder that has maximum volume?

Basically this question is asking you to derive the equation for a cylinder... With the given parameters of the cone. So, what does that mean to do?

You have an equation for a cylinder with an arbitrary variables for the circumference and height. They are constrained by the size of the cone, so you can input those variables into the general equation for a cylinder... and then derive and set equal to zero.
