I need to simplify this equation 1-((x-2)/(4-x^2))-((2-x)/(x^2-4))
http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=1-%28%28x-2%29%2F%284-x%5E2%29%29-%28%282-x%29%2F%28x%5E2-4%29%29 easier to read it there
can u simplify x^2-4 its difference of squares \(\huge a^2-b^2=(a+b)(a-b)\)
yea I did that, but I didn't see what to do next
show your steps, where are you stuck ?
did u get 1+1/(x+2) +1/(x+2) ?
...nope hold on I'm typing in my steps in wolfram so that I can show you where I got
First I put it on a common division http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=1-%28%28x%5E2-4%29%28x-2%29-%284-x%5E2%29%282-x%29%29%2F%28%284-x%5E2%29%28x%5E2-4%29%29 and then: http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=1-%282%28x-2%29%28x%2B2%29-2%282-x%29%282%2Bx%29%29%2F%28%282-x%29%282%2Bx%29%28x-2%29%28x%2B2%29%29 and I see now that the graphs are different, but I don't know where the error is
if i may suggest an alternative easier method, don't put a common division from the beginning, you can simplify (x-2) / (4-x^2) by writing 4-x^2 as ?
(2-x)(2+x)
oh yeah, now I see it thanks
yes, then (x-2)/(2-x)(2+x) would equal ? oh, ok.... ask if u still have doubts in further steps.....
