this is just a feedback... so no offense....

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

i think more rules should be implemented in the Music group. I visited Music group just now and I can barely see any academic question. And if there are actually academic questions, those don't get answered at all (if they do the asker just gets trolled by the answerers) the posts in Music group nowadays are full of songs (if you call rap a song). While it follows the Music group ground rules, these posts are not posted for criticism at all. They turn out to be just medal parties. If I'm not mistaken, the rule was that users may post original songs *for criticism*. No one even does any criticism there. They just medal the one who posted, say "nice song!" (without even having heard it) and then go on with their lives. I have no proposed solution. I was just posting a feedback.

Parth (parthkohli):

There's just my question which is related to music.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

i bet you didn't get a serious reply?

Parth (parthkohli):

And it wasn't answered.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

close enough

Parth (parthkohli):

Yes sir. You deserve a medal. (y)

Parth (parthkohli):

Actually it wasn't seriously answered, yes.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

i wonder how long it'll take before i get bashed/banned for this feedback....

OpenStudy (mattfeury):

I actually agree for the most part. I've taken to moderate the questions in there a little bit myself recently, but honestly I'm not sure about the lyrics posts. I don't see anything inherently wrong with them, since they are people sharing their creations, but perhaps it would be wise to allow people to share their *music*, rather than just words. Something like that would be more appropriate in Writing. I'm going to look around and mull over my feelings on the matter. It's just a matter of what we want to get out of the Music section: - Do we want people to share their music? Does it have to be in a "finished" form? - Do we want people to help with songwriting or are we taking a bit more scholastic approach? These are all hypotheticals btw. Just thinking aloud.

OpenStudy (mattfeury):

Let me reiterate though: I don't think there is anything wrong with discussing rap. I disagree with people that say it is not "music".

OpenStudy (swag):

@farmdawgnation Has already explained that the group might be closed if there is no rellevant topics in there or any more issues

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

for the record...my point was not "rap is not music"....i never said it wasn't....
