1;Elections are held the first Tuesday of November every leap year! If you are already registered, you should be able to vote with a copy of voter card and drivers license, even though your name changed. This would get you into the primaries. Registration can be done at the court house, the post office or where you get driver license at. You can early vote if you primary is after super Tuesday still. Early voting starts on the 22 February for Texas. You can absentee vote only for certain reasons. i forget what they are. If you are in a state that is voting on super Tuesday it is to late for early voting. Go down and vote now! And No you can not vote on line. No one is set up for that. 2;Four years is one term. US presidents can only serve two for four year terms, for a total of eight years.

The controlling law is the 22nd Amendment to the US Constitution. Section 1 of the amendment reads "No person shall be elected to the office of President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of President more than once.

This effectively limits a person to 10 years ( 2 year completing someone else's term + 2 4 year terms).

On a side note, the amendment does not specifically limit how long a person can SERVE as President. It only limits how many times they can be elected. If they could become President without being elected after a second term, it could be argued that this amendment does not prevent them from serving more than 10 years. The Supreme Court would probably find otherwise in the inevitable challenge, but it is POSSIBLE to interpret the amendment this
