Checking my answer to this Trigonometry question??
tan(27)=x/34 (34)tan(27)=x/34(34) 34tan(27) = 17.32 tan(27) = 0.509525 0.509525(34) = 17.32
tan(theta) = perpendicular/base So, tan(27)=34/x 0.5095 = 34/x 0.5095 x = 34 x = 34/0.5095 x= 66.73
@Renee99 got it..??
@Renee99, tan(θ) = opposite/adjacent
hmmm, I did it again and I got the same answer... tan(27)=34/x (x)tan(27)=34/x(x) xtan(27) = 34 xtan(27)/tan27 = 34/tan27 x = 17.32
when I put 34/tan27 into my calculator I get 17.32 but If I separate it like this... tan(27) = 0.509525 34/0.509525 I get the 66.73
which one is right?
That's because you're probably not using parentheses
I plug it into my calc just like this: 34/tan(27)
\[\frac{34}{\tan(27^{\circ})} = 66.73^{\circ}\]
Try this: 34/(tan(27))
it's divided! ohhh! okay
@Renee99 look at the steps that I have done.. that solution is perfect...
@Kashan, I'm pretty sure she saw your steps bro. She was having trouble with her calculator.
okay, for some reason my calc wont let me do the / sign but I get the 66.73 when I plug in 34 divided bu tan(27) :)
thanks for your help you guys! :)
