To save money for a video game, you put one dollar in an envelope.Each day for 5 days you double the number of dollars in the envelope from the day before. How much have you saved after 5 days?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The easiest wat to solve this is draw a picture for each day, such as an envelope for each day with the number of dollars it contains written on it. Then just add up all the dollars!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

32$ :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Fall12-13 it starts off as 1 dollar. so it would double the next day.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@mikaa_toxica13 Yeah sorry, never mind.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

day 1=1$ day 2=2$ day 3=4$ and so on...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First Day: $1 Second Day = 2$ Third Day = 4$ Forth Day= 8$ Fifth Day = 16$ Add them all. I got the answer as 31$ lol o_O

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okaay first day- 1 dollar second day- 2 third day- 4 fourth day- 8 fifth day- 16 add them (sorry not 32 its 6 i went a day over) 1+ 2+ 4+ 8+ 16= 31 so your total answer is 31 :)
