can someone please help i dont understand this at all!! ive tryed twice but failed;( 1 Factor completely: 3ab(x + 1) − 2(x + 1) a. Prime b. (x + 1)(3ab + 2) c. (x + 1)(3ab − 2) d. (x + 1)(ab) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Question 2 (Multiple Choice Worth 1 points) Factor completely: 3ab − 5ax + 9b − 15x a. (3b + 5x)(a + 3) b. (3b − 5x)(a + 3) c. (3b − 5x)(a − 3) d. Prime -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Question 3 (Multipl

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

what do 3ab(x + 1) and − 2(x + 1) have in common?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the (x+1)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

so you can factor that out to get (3ab - 2)(x+1)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

and of course, order of multiplication doesn't matter so (3ab - 2)(x+1) is the same as (x+1)(3ab - 2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhhh ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what would be a prime answer?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

if you can't factor it at all

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

but that's not the case here since we can factor

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh ok so like #2 would be a prime?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

no

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

we can actually factor #2 as well

OpenStudy (anonymous):

uggg ok how would u do that one?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

I'll do a bit of it to get you going

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

3ab - 5ax + 9b - 15x a(3b - 5x) + 9b - 15x a(3b - 5x) + 3(3b - 5x)
