OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know that it's 7.5 hours although I don't know how to show it :/

OpenStudy (oaktree):

Use together over alone. Let T be the time they need to do it together. Then\[\frac{ T }{ 6 }+\frac{ T }{ 9 } = 1\]

OpenStudy (oaktree):

Now solve.

OpenStudy (oaktree):

No problem.

why is 1 after the equal sign?

OpenStudy (radar):

That is the accomplishment of one job i.e. "1"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks

OpenStudy (radar):

When you work a problem like this, normally with both working together the time to accomplish the chore should be less than either of the individuals working alone. The answer will be less than 6
