the importance of ion exchange in reactor is depends on purpose of the reactor and waste water treated. to remove or take ion that is not easily to precipitate or obtain by conventional method (e.g chemical), you can use ion exchange!

to destroy or eliminate mostly inorganics........positively or negatively charged inorganics like calcium, sodium, magnesium exist in waste-waters and contribute to salinity and E-conductivity.
