HELLLP MEE! My math class is doing the "using Scatter Plots" Skill practice. I am a little confused on how to do this whole section. The directions say: Draw a scatter plot. Use two ordered pairs to write a prediction equation, and use your prediction equation to predict the missing value. Sounds easy enough, but the bigger the numbers the more confusing the problem. Please explain how one would do this!

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if the scatter plot looks like a straight line; then one option is to use a high low method; pick to plots that seem to average the rest of the others and define a line between them

Drawing a scatter plot is just putting point on a graph (try to make these more or less in a line). The metod for determining the correct equation depends on wat the teacher is expecting (it ranges from "just-do-it" to calculus). At what are you ?

a graphic representation of bivariate data as a set of points in the plane that have Cartesian coordinates equal to corresponding values of the two variates. a two-dimensional graph of two or more variables with them plotted on the Y axis or the X axis to show their relationship(s);
