Choose the procedure you would use to solve the equation 3x + 3 = 24 for x. Subtract three from both sides, and then multiply by three on both sides. Subtract three from both sides, and then divide by three on both sides. Divide both sides by three, and then add three to both sides. Divide both sides by three, and then subtract 24 from both sides. My answer is: A But i want to make sure that's right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope its B. because you wanna subtract the 3 first. which gives u 3x=24-3=21 so its 3x=21 then u divide the 3 to get x by itself so x=7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So on all those types of equations and questions do i just put at the last step divide by 'whatever' to get the x by itself

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes if the x is being multiplied by some number then you have to divide to get the x by itself

get it?
