A poem that is told in an actual manner

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe its sonnet

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah its a sonnet.. fourteen-line rhyming poem with set structure: a short poem with 14 lines, usually ten-syllable rhyming lines, divided into two, three, or four sections. There are many rhyming patterns for sonnets, and they are usually written in iambic pentameter.

OpenStudy (jagatuba):

Just to clarify @Agent_Sniffles: Iambic pentameter is not a rhyming scheme. It is a type of meter that specifies how the poem is written syllabically. While there are several rhyming schemes for sonnets, the most commonly used is the one for Shakespearian sonnets. This patter goes: a-b-a-b, c-d-c-d, e-f-e-f, g-g, meaning in each stanza the 3rd line rhymes with the 1st line and the 4th line rhymes with the 2nd line. The last stanza in the sonnet consists of two lines with the second rhyming with the first.
