2n-6=-8+14

OpenStudy (cinniomon):

Ok are you solving for n?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What are you trying to do? Simplify? Solve for n?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (cinniomon):

Ok, so first i would do the math on the right side -8+14 This is 6 so now you have 2n-6=6 Now get rid of the -6 on the left side by adding 6 So now you have 2n=12 Now divide both sides by 2 You should get n=6 and thats the answer!

thnx Cinniomon

OpenStudy (cinniomon):

You are welcome

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey Cinniomom,its -2n-6=-8n+14

OpenStudy (cinniomon):

Oh, well that changes things

OpenStudy (cinniomon):

Gimme a sec to refigure it.

OpenStudy (cinniomon):

Ok, well first add 8n to both sides this gets you 6n-6=14 Now add 6 to both sides you get 6n=20 Now divide by 6 you get n=20/6 thats the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thnx again

OpenStudy (cinniomon):

You r welcome
