How do you find the 22nd derivative of y=[(x^10) -x +5]^2? I am supposed to recognize a pattern and I cannot tell if it will be zero by the 22nd derivative.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i will guess zero, since you have a polynomial of degree 20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it is zero after the 20th derivative?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the 20th derivative will be a constant, like the third derivative of \(x^3\) is 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the twenty first derivative will be zero, and it is zero from there on in

Ah okay, thank you! I didn't think to it like that. Midterms the past 2 weeks so my brain is overheating.
