solve and graph on number line 6y – 8 ≤ 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@biancaluna First, you need to "move" that -8 from the left to the right... add 8 to both sides: 6y – 8 ≤ 10 6y – 8 + 8 ≤ 10 + 8 Then simplify: 6y ≤ 18 Then you need to get "y" alone by dividing both sides by 6: 6y/6 ≤ 18/6 and again, simplify: y ≤ 3 Then you just need to graph it on your number line.

Does that make sense? You have to get the variable, y, all alone... so you have to move that "-8" across, then you have to divided both sides by 6 to change "6y" into "y".

yes, thank you.

Glad to help :)
