write csc(t) in terms of cot(t) in QI

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got: csc(t)=1/sin(t) But I'm not sure how to proceed to get it in terms of cot(t).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

me neither... I know cot is cos/sin but don't know how to incorporate them

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

here's a hint... what should you *divide* cot by to get 1/sin ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cosine

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So am I right in thinking cot(t)=cos(t)(1/sin(t)) so cot(t)=cos(t)csc(t)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm assuming that's what you got? lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

except it's supposed to be in terms of csc so it's supposedly cot/cos but that's not the right answer... i also tried cot/sec

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmmmmm I also got csc(t)=cot(t)/cos(t)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=cot%2Fcos

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so apparently we are right....lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it was cot(t)sec(t)
