The way to determine whether 97 is prime or not: Pick a number close to 97 and greater that is familiar and workable insofar as known to be a "square". For example, 100 is greater than 97 and is 10^2. So check prime number factors on 97 to see if it is divisible, but you only have to go up to 10. Checking 2,3,5,7,11, we see that 97 is not divisible by any of those numbers, not so as to produce an integer quotient. So, it is prime.
